Trials and tribulations that we face from time to time as born-again Christians do not paint a corresponding picture of what our tomorrow will be, let alone for all eternity. But trials and tribulations are only a deceitful show-of-force that the devil uses in trying to cause us to fear him. "And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ" (Revelations 12:17 NKJV).
The devil has come to make war with us because we are born of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. The effects of his deceitful show-of-force, even though are undeniable, are nothing but temporary. Because during the testing of our faith, the Holy Spirit, who is our Helper, and Comforter manifests His fruits in our lives to a greater extent for our comfort as He helps us through.
"For the time has come for judgement to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? Now 'If the righteous one is scarcely saved, Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear'" (1 Peter 4:17–18 NKJV)?
The devil knows that he is already a defeated enemy, but he does not want us to know and believe that we are already more than conquerors; hence, he relies on his deceitful show-of-force in trying to cause us to fear him, as he, himself, fears to lose face. "You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4 NKJV).
If God has called you, it is not that you were qualified in your own right, but it is because He graciously chose you before the foundation of the world, equipped you at rebirth, qualified you, and made you complete in every good work to do His will. "Make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen" (Hebrews 13:21 NKJV).
All that we have to do is to allow Him to work in us what is well-pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, who causes us to will and do as He leads us through the Holy Spirit for God's good pleasure. "For it is God (Jesus Christ) who works in you both to will and to do for His (God's) "emphasis mine" good pleasure" (Philippians 2:13 NKJV).
This book describes the eternal plan of God, and its benefit to us, among other things, in trampling over the devil. This book shows the link between God's eternal plan and God's eternal purpose, affirming God's abounding love for us. Having to walk in victory as we do despite the stumbling blocks in our paths, has a lot to do with knowing and believing in God's eternal plan and purpose for our lives.
